Despite her deep commitment to art, Christiane has chosen to retain her independence by devoting herself to a practical profession that nourishes her physical being, an essential crucible for the alchemy of ‘creation’. Her career as a geologist and lecturer-researcher has taken her to universities in Africa and France, where she has immersed herself in the captivating world of rocks and landscapes. Her profession, far from being a mere occupation, is a source of fascination, carving out moments of free time dedicated to nourishing body and mind, fuelling a reflection intrinsically linked to her creative work.
Christiane’s career as a geologist has been shaped by curiosity, which has led her down diverse and intense paths in life. A pivotal decade spent amidst the vast landscapes of Africa and the boundless expanse of the desert has left a deep imprint on her artistic sensibility.
Her dual roles as a geologist and visual artist intertwine and complement one another, enriching each other and forming an inexhaustible source of inspiration. This unique fusion of science and art enables Christiane to create nomadic sketches during her travels across the globe, capturing the diverse landscapes and geological wonders she encounters along the way.
Over the years, Christiane Seguin’s artistic endeavours have been featured in numerous group exhibitions, including prestigious events such as the Salon des Indépendants, Art Sacré and Art et Matière in Paris. She has also presented her work in solo exhibitions in various locations, from La Rochelle and Antibes in France to Aix-en-Provence, Germany, and Avignon and its surrounding regions.
