Mona dans tous ses états - Mona in all her states

Exhibition in Antibes

The Albert Camus media library is hosting ‘Mona dans tous ses états’ (Mona in all her states), a collective, poetic and visual adventure led by Dominique Prévost: wood engraved with an ancient spirit, transformed by modern hands into a new whisper.
Discovered in a flea market, this antique wood engraving by an unknown artist depicts motherhood. It offers us its tender past as a Madonna, only to be reincarnated, brought to life by new hands and new means. ‘Mona in All Her States’ thus offers us a wide variety of interpretations open to all imaginations. In engraving, a ‘state’ is a print that differs from the one that precedes it.
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue, a beautifully finished ‘book-object’ in the form of a 5-metre-long artistic accordion. Removed from its protective case, it can be laid out and consulted in accordion mode, or as a booklet, page by page. Each page presents a work and its author, its title, the techniques used, and a quotation.
